COMPLEX WATERSLIDE STRUCTURE L7,3m x W6,3m x H10,1m
  • CUSTOMER NEED:
    This large, irregularly shaped waterslide structure required protection during both storage and transport from the factory to a cruise ship. Due to its complex geometry, protruding sections and large overall size, a standard one-piece packaging solution was not practical. The packaging also needed to protect the finished structure against weather exposure, dirt and production dust before installation on board.
  • OUR SOLUTION:
    HEAT³ used a hybrid packaging method combining pre-manufactured heat-shrink covers with on-site heat welding. The individual covers were positioned over different sections of the structure and connected together during packaging to create one continuous protective enclosure. A 230-micron flame-retardant heat-shrink film was used throughout. Four HEAT³ installers completed the packaging in approximately eight hours.
  • CUSTOMER BENEFITS:
    The hybrid method made it possible to protect a highly complex structure while still benefiting from the speed and predictability of pre-manufactured covers. By connecting the sections on-site, the packaging could closely follow the unusual geometry of the waterslide and provide continuous protection during storage and transport. The tightly shrunk film also minimised loose material and protected the finished surfaces from dust, dirt and weather exposure until installation on the cruise ship.

TEMPORARY SHRINK_WRAP COVERING FOR A HEMISPHERICAL SALES KIOSK
  • CUSTOMER NEED:
    The customer needed a temporary protective covering for a hemispherical sales kiosk at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds during a concert. The structure had to be enclosed for the event, while part of the covering still needed to remain transparent so visitors could see inside.
  • OUR SOLUTION:
    HEAT³ manufactured a custom-made cover to match the exact shape of the hemispherical structure. The cover combined two different 180-micron heat-shrink films: white film for the opaque sections and transparent film for the areas where visibility was required. One HEAT³ installer fitted and heat-shrunk the complete cover around the frame in approximately 1.5 hours.
  • CUSTOMER BENEFITS:
    The custom-made solution followed the unusual geometry of the kiosk closely while combining privacy and visibility in one package. Because the cover was prepared to shape in advance, installation on site was fast and required only one installer. The customer was very satisfied with the result, and the temporary kiosk was successfully used throughout the event.

FLAME-RETARDANT PROTECTION FOR A 15m "GOLF BALL"
  • CUSTOMER NEED:
    The customer needed to protect a large spherical structure, approximately 15 metres high and 15.6 metres in diameter, during transport and long-term outdoor storage at the factory. After installation, the same protection also had to shield the structure from dust and debris generated by nearby metalworking. Due to the project environment, the packaging had to be flame-retardant, resistant to ignition and suitable for at least one year of outdoor exposure.
  • OUR SOLUTION:
    HEAT³ manufactured the cover as accurately as possible to the shape of the sphere, minimising the amount of heat welding required on site. Reducing the number of field-made seams lowered the risk of joints weakening or opening during extended storage. The structure was also protected from the inside, ensuring that internal components remained covered against dust and other activities taking place within the sphere. Three HEAT³ installers completed the exterior covering in approximately seven hours
  • CUSTOMER BENEFITS:
    The custom-fitted flame-retardant packaging provided one continuous protection solution for several stages of the project: transport, outdoor storage and the installation phase. Its close fit reduced unnecessary loose material and the need for on-site welding, improving long-term reliability. By protecting both the exterior and interior, the customer could keep the large structure and its internal components covered until surrounding construction and metalworking activities were completed.
